Perspective

5/23/2013

This word is used quite a bit when making art. It makes sense when you think of actual drawing and creating perspective or when you are painting something and change your point of view. By actually moving the piece or even getting up, standing or  kneeling, a different way of seeing is created. Why is this helpful?  Well, when we look at on object or a problem or even a person we get a new view of situation. In the case of painting a piece of pottery you can see places that you missed. If it is a problem, you might find the solution by taking it out of the context of how you normally think. And if it is a person who is different than you, a new perspective can give you insight into why they do what they do and how your reactions to it might be perceived as either helpful or hurtful.

Just think of perspective next time you need a fresh view of art and life!

New Beginnings

You are never to old to learn new tricks, the old phrase goes. Well, I think that is a very true statement because if you are reading this blog right now then you are part of my new trick! I've never been very techie and quite frankly it was easier to refer any computer problem to my kids!  Over the years  our web site has been created and maintained by two very creative women, Ann and Susan. They worked their techie magic and got all the information to the website so you could participate in programs at our studio.  So perhaps it was creative envy or just the need to learn a new skill, I took on the task of recreating the website to reflect our new commitment to  fun programs, great birthdays and super summer camps. My daughter, Katie,  got me started on this new adventure and after many months of creative brainstorming our new site was born on May 10, 2013. It is quite exciting to have the site up and running and I hope you enjoy this interactive site. I can now make  changes  at the drop of a hat. So, check back often, as well as follow us on twitter at Wonderworksart or on Facebook at wonderworksartstudio. Happy Creating!
